Greetings! I am breaking radio silence to let you know there is much activity afoot at Tangled Wire Studio. I am in the process of putting a new group of songs together for a forthcoming album. Like most creative pursuits, these things take time. I plan on releasing some single tracks soon, which may or may not be a part of my new release. Right now I am working om a group of about 16 songs. Some will make the cut, some won’t. As usual, I ask you keep checking back for new songs and further updates.
This video and song always seems appropriate for this time of year. I hope everyone will do their best to be kind to one another as we close out this crazy year.
I sincerely wish everyone peace and happiness now and in the coming year!
Here’s a new release of improvised jam songs from Tangled Wire Studio, Besides me, this collection features Noel Williams on Saxophone and Keyboards, Stony Bruce on Electric Guitar, Terry Jimmy Walters, Jr. on Drums and an appearance by John Yobinski on Bass.
What I like about these songs is their spontaneity. They developed on the fly with no planning or discussion. Like all my other releases, these tracks are licensed under Creative Commons and free to download. Enjoy!
In a few hours, the year 2014 will be over and a new year will be upon us. No matter what you experienced over the last 365 days, there’s always something hopeful about the clean slate of a new year. At least that has been the case for me. I am looking forward to 2015 because I have a new group of songs that will be part of a new album release, “Eyes Once Shut.” Please keep checking back for details.
As for you, the person reading these words, I sincerely wish you a joyous 2015.
I’ve added a couple of new songs to my collection, “Live from Tangled Wire Studios: Improvised Jams” The songs, recorded last week feature Noel Williams on keyboards, Stony Bruce on Guitar, Terry Jimmy Walters, Jr on drums and your truly on Bass. These songs were spontaneous and fun to play. As for the titles, they too were improvised at the time of our recording. Like the other material I post, they are free to download. Enjoy!
Well we made it through 2013 and we have a 2014 ahead of us. I hope it’s a peaceful and creative year for everyone. Remember what’s important and cherish the time you have with your friends and loved ones.
With that, I present a newly mastered version of one of my favorite songs, “I’m So Glad You’re My Friend.”
Here’s a new song – part of an improvised jam, recently recorded Live at Tanlged Wire Studios. The song features Noel Williams on Vocals, Steve Roberts on Bass, Dreaddie Girl on Drums and yours truly playing guitar. As usual, the song is available for free download.
I wrote this song a few years back when I lived in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle. For this recording, I had the assistance of drummer extraordinaire, Ron Carnell. Ron’s percussion work really helped gel everything together nicely.
Song Credits: Written, Recorded and Performed by Marwood Williams
Drums, Percussion, Recorder: Ron Carnell
Happy Holidays to everyone. I am working on a lot of new material for the coming new year. I hope to have a new collection of original songs in the coming months.
In the mean time, here’s a new addition to my Live From Tangled Wire Studio collection. The song, Wheelbarrow, was a spontaneous jam featuring Noel Williams on Alto Sax, Dreaddie Girl on Percussion and yousr truly on bass.
I have been busy working on new material. I have several new songs in the pipe, which will hopefully culminate with a new EP release early next year. The above image is from a recent Tangled Wire acquisition – a new webcam. After I work out some of the kinks with this new video technology (New for me, at least), I plan on releasing a series of live performance videos as part of my “Live From Tangled Wire Studios” series. I am looking forward to having some guest musicians join me on some of my live sessions. Please check back for updates!
